Form an Arts Committee in Maple Shade

Sustainable Maple Shade volunteers, worked with our town's Director of Business and Economic Development to form a sub-committee under the Business and Economic Development Commission, called the Mural & Arts Committee.

Murals & Art Ordinance

Maple Shade has "Murals" listed as a Prohibited sign in their zoning laws. The Business and Economic Development Commission's art committee created an ordinance that would amend the Maple Shade Township code to Chapter 126 “MURALS AND PUBLIC ART,” to allow a space for murals in order to enhance our community. On March 28, 2024, town council passed this ordinance.

Storm Drain Painting Contest

To bring awareness to Stormwater management, Clean Communities, Sustainable Maple Shade and the Maple Shade High School put together a storm drain painting contest.
