Clearing up the Costume Swap- FREE Costumes for Anyone!

Halloween costumes are expensive. Every year kids wants to be something else and if they don’t have a sibling to hand it down to, or if that sibling doesn’t want the same costume, it’s basically something you pay upwards of $25 for and wear once before it ends up trashed.

Stop the cycle and SAVE money with Sustainable Maple Shade’s annual costume swap!

Right now we are collecting gently used costumes and any accessories at the township building, 200 Stiles Ave., and in the lobbies of each of the elementary schools in town. The last week of the month, volunteers collect and sort the donations into sizes and categories.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., everyone is invited to the township building to shop. Whether you donated or not, are the richest Shader in town or are struggling to make ends meet, the swap is for everyone. The goal is to keep costumes out of the trash and keep giving them new life all while saving everyone some money.

Stumped for a costume idea and don’t like any of the ones we have? Volunteers can help you style an outfit from the accessories and costume pieces for a one of a kind look.

From brand new wigs and makeup to favorites like Star Wars and Toy Story to classics like vampire and witch, there’s something for everyone at our Costume Swap! We hope to see you there!!
